1861 Bartolomeo Borgogno founded a winery that is titled as one of the most famous ambassadors of the prestigious Barolo wine. Particular attention is paid to the exclusive vineyards of the Lanhe, such as: Liste, Fossati, San Pietro delle Viole, Bricco Bompè, Cannubi, Vigna Scaldapulce, as well as love of nature, farming principles, wine production. The winemaker perfectly represents not only the wide range of Nebiolo grapes, but also Dolcetto, Barbera, Freisa, as well as varieties of whites such as: Timorasso, Riesling Renano. The grapes are picked exclusively by hand. Soil – clayey limestone, sand. The Cannubi vineyard is located on the upper slopes of 290 – 320 m. above sea level. It is one of the most prestigious and oldest vineyards, which has been mentioned in historical sources since 1700. Seedling density – 4000 pcs. / ha. After 12 days of malolactic fermentation, 40-50 days of maceration with skins in concrete egg-shaped containers. Then the wine for 48 months. aged in 4500 L. Slovenian oak barrels and 6 m. bottles to achieve a harmonious balance. Due to the above characteristics, it has a very long potential to mature in the bottle, only of course in the right environment and temperature. Solemn, mature, expressive, prestigious, warming, solid, multifaceted, complex, berry, spicy, silky tannins, balanced body with a particularly long-lasting aftertaste. It is characterized by the scents of red fruits, cherries, spices, chocolate, tobacco leaves, forest floor.
